Instructions
  1. Heat the milk in the microwave for a minute. Let it cool until slightly warm, and dissolve yeast in it. Set aside.
  2. Cream margarine and sugar until dissolved. Add eggs and whip together until mixed. Mix the salt with one cup of flour, and add it to the egg mixture. Add yeast mixture and mix well until a smooth paste is formed.

  3. Add the remaining cups of flour one by one and mix well by hand or paddle mixer. Knead the dough until smooth for about 3-5 minutes into a ball and let it rise for an hour.
  4. Once risen, beat the ball of flour down to let out the air. Then roll it out on a big surface into a rectangle that is 21x16 inches in size. Make sure you do this precisely using a ruler.
  5. Preheat oven to 350F (skip this if making in the airfryer). Spread the entire surface of your dough with 1/3 cup butter. Mix cinnamon powder with the brown sugar, and spread it on top of the butter evenly across the surface, leaving about a half inch from the edges.

  6. Roll the dough tightly from the top towards the bottom. Once fully rolled, cut the dough equally into 1.75 inch rolls.

  7. Place them flat side down on a sheet of baking paper/greased aluminium foil. If using an airfryer, grease the bottom of the pan and place it directly inside. Leave spaces between the rolls about 1.5 inches on all sides.

  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the dough turns golden. Meanwhile, prepare the icing by mixing all the ingredients together and beating them on low speed for 2 minutes. You can cut the icing recipe in half if you just want a drizzle, but we like to drown the buns in it.
  9. Take the rolls out of the oven, and pour icing generously all over the rolls, while they are still warm (this helps the icing melt into all the layers of the rolls.

  10. Serve warm, and if serving later, microwave on 30 seconds to soften the buns.
